What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Is it just a day to get a lot of free food? An excuse to fly home and see your family? Or is it a day to come together and celebrate everything that you are thankful for? Is it all of the above?
For me, Thanksgiving is a great reason and time of year for me to come visit my family. Living in Florida, I only get to come home to visit my family about twice a year. But don’t get me wrong, the food is definitely a necessity.
This year I would like to take a short moment to say what I have been thankful for this year. I won’t spend too much time because today is about being with family, not reading blogs on the internet. I am also currently writing this on Thanksgiving morning, so I would also like to spend time with my family.
First and foremost, I am thankful for my family. They have been there for me since day one, literally. They have bent over backwards to make sure that I can succeed and have the necessary tools to do so. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support.
Next would be my amazing group of friends in Florida. I made a post a few months ago that went into detail about each one of them so I’m not going to repeat it all. But if you find the post The Most Important People In My Life you’ll see in detail who each person is and what they mean to me. Overall, they are just the best group of friends anyone could ask for in their adult life. They are always there for me when I need them and it’s nice to know when people genuinely care about you.
Also, I am thankful for my blog and all the writing I have done. Basically, I am thankful for my creativity. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to create new and exciting things to share with people, with all of you. Writing “The Prism” has been a true joy to me these past few months. I’ve gotten some amazing feedback on it and it just inspires me to keep creating and writing new and exciting stories. I promise I will have at least one new chapter by the end of this vacation (at least have it written, I can’t promise it will be edited because that depends on how my editor’s schedule looks like this holiday).
Finally, we should all be thankful for the men and women that have to work today. Doctors, nurses, firefighters, policemen, soldiers, etc. There are so many people that give up this day to work and keep us all safe. Thank them when you see them.
Those are a few in the long list of things I am thankful for. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please share in the comments things that you are thankful for this year. Let me know what Thanksgiving means to you. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hasta La Pasta,
